2016 A SUMMER OF WEDDINGS AND SO MUCH MORE!

When John and I got married in 1962, little did we know that our family would be blessed by expanding to a clan of thirty. Even that is not a finite number. As the grandchildren establish families of their own, we will continue to increase. We are blessed! Our daughter has seven children, five who are now married, and our son has two daughters still in school. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me go back to the beginning of summer.

This summer, two of my daughter and son-in-law’s children got married. Their older siblings, coming from multiple states, returned home for the weddings, along with our eight great-grandchildren. It was something all grandparents dream of, seeing all the grands and great-grands, especially when you haven’t met one of them. The wedding were strategically placed on the calendar so one trip home would suffice.

Needless to say the weddings were beautiful, both outdoors, one in the evening and the other in the afternoon. But between our grandson and his bride’s wedding, and our granddaughter and her groom’s wedding, we managed to tuck in lots of family time.

Granddaughter number four graduated this year. This joyous occasion was celebrated with friends and family. Lots of delicious food! Yum!

Then the ladies got together for a tea.

We did all this and so much more. We’re all a little closer, but all things must come to a close. Until we meet again, there’s Facetime.

What next? Stay tune as four of the greats begin their school years, two in preschool and two in kindergarten. Oh, my, make the most of your days, for they certainly do fly by.
